Kish College to host Discover Kish for new students

The College uses multiple communication channels to inform the campus community. Currently enrolled students, faculty and staff will be notified of operational changes via text message and email through the College's Mass Notification System. Road conditions can be monitored through the .
Weather Detection System
麻豆影院 has partnered with Perry Weather, a severe weather detection company providing real-time weather information and emergency notifications for lightning detection.
The outdoor lightning system and weather station are located on top of the scoreboard at the softball fields. The system's audible alert can be heard from the College鈥檚 athletic fields, truck yard and other outside areas on campus.
The system alerts when lightning has been detected within a 10-mile radius of the 麻豆影院 campus.
- Once detected, one 15-second audible alert will sound, followed by a public address statement, 鈥淟ightning has been detected. Move to a safe location.鈥�
- After the initial 15-second audible alert, a yellow strobe light on top of the system will begin flashing. This light will remain flashing until safe conditions return.
- If campus buildings are open, seek shelter. If not, seek shelter in a hard-topped vehicle.
- Remain in shelter until 30 minutes have passed since the last lightning strike.
- The system will provide an 鈥渁ll clear鈥� with three short audible alerts, followed by the public address statement, 鈥淵ou may resume outside activities. All clear.鈥�
